Internship @ Cyrus
1. The Beginning of Your Cyrus Journey
Your first day is all about getting settled in — from getting to know Cyrus, to joining an office tour and getting a glimpse of the different departments. You’ll meet your team, learn more about your department and understand your role and responsibilities, while getting familiar with the people and environment around you. This will give you a better idea of how everything comes together at Cyrus and what to expect throughout your internship journey.
2. From Theory to Reality
Here, interns get the opportunity to put what they have learnt into practice – applying your knowledge to real tasks, hands-on work and projects while developing real-life problem-solving skills along the way. Interns will also learn soft skills that are not taught in classes, such as communicating with different people, time management, taking responsibility for our work and adapt during change.
School teaches us knowledge. Internship teaches us how to put it into practice.
3. Work Hard, Play Hard
While working hard is important, we believe it’s equally important to play hard and enjoy the journey. At Cyrus, interns get opportunities to bond within their departments, connect with colleagues and interns from different teams, and take part in wellness programmes and activities throughout their internship.
One of the highlights is Interns Appreciation Day, where they get to step away from their usual routines, come together and have some fun. These moments give us a chance to unwind, build friendships and create memories beyond their day-to-day work.
4. Supported Throughout Your Journey
Starting somewhere new can be overwhelming, and you won’t be expected to figure everything out on your own. For credit-bearing interns, school mentors provide an extra layer of support through mentor visits and check-ins, while our teams at Cyrus are there to guide you throughout your internship.
Interns are also given opportunities to present to their managers on what they have learnt, the experiences they have gained and their feedback throughout the internship. These moments allow us to hear directly from our interns, understand their experience and see how they have grown during their time to us.
5. What’s next?
Internship is not just about completing tasks. It is about figuring out what we are good at, what we enjoy and what we want to take with us into our future careers.
Whether it is a new skill, a new perspective, a better understanding of the workplace or simply more confidence in ourselves, we hope everyone leaves Cyrus with something they did not have when they first walked through the door.
